Community Description:
I was lucky enough to grow up in a culturally diverse community. Growing up, I have had friends from Mexico, Quebec, Nigeria, Palestine, Kenya, India, Iran, Afghanistan, South Korea, Australia, England, and La Côte d'Ivoire. I want my students to have the same opportunity to celebrate the diversity of this planet and connect with others through our commonalities while learning from our differences.
Future Dreams:
To be an great educator! I want to create learning opportunities that allow my students to experience cultures and societies beyond their own. I want my students to learn to think socially and globally, to have an interest in what is going on in the rest of the world. I want my students to be their society's problem-solvers and the healers of culture and community rather than its destroyers.
Hope to Learn on NWZ:
I'm hoping NWZ will contribute to my dream for a multicultural and socially-conscious classroom. I want my students to use websites like this to connect with others from aroudn the world and to realize that they are never too young to be powerful forces of positive change in the world.
